Compared to compressed air, vacuum is increasingly used in industries: vacuum packaging for food/pharma, vacuum assembly of electronic parts, vacuum handling for LCDs/auto glass, vacuum coating, heat treatment, etc.

 

 

What is vacuum? How defined? 
Basics: 
1atm = 760mmHg = 1.01325×10^5Pa = 1.01325bar. 
Unit conversions below.

 

 

Confused? Simply: at sea level, gauges read 0, but absolute pressure is 1atm above you. (Less confusing, but heavier?)

 

 

Vacuum is opposite: removing air. Theoretically to zero (gauge: -1bar), but absolute vacuum is unattainable. The unattained point is absolute vacuum level.
